Held at the Arab League Headquarters – Cairo, June 6, 2024
The Arab Federation of Shipping (AFOS) participated in the 117th regular session of the Council of Arab Economic Unity. AFOS was represented by Dr. Mohamed Awad, who attended on behalf of Mr. Mohamed Suleiman Metwally, President of the Federation.
The session was inaugurated by H.E. Ambassador Mohannad Al-Aklouk, Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League and current session president, who welcomed the attendees. The opening remarks also included a speech by H.E. Ambassador Mohamedi Ahmed Al-Ni, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, who presented an overview of the Council’s key achievements and activities over the past period.
Additionally, the session featured statements from the heads of delegations representing the Council’s member states. This was followed by remarks from Professor Mostafa Hadeeb, President of the Arab Academy for Administrative, Financial, and Banking Sciences, who addressed the role of specialized federations within the Council.
